Koa is your quintessential Renaissance man--equal parts city slicker and cowboy. When he’s not popping up in NYC you can find him with his wife Mona on a beach or in the mountains, most likely grilling something over a fire.
You know what’s really been inspiring to me lately? The law of attraction. I’ve had some really profound manifestations in the last few weeks directly after meditation and acupuncture.... It’s been really magical.
Hmm... one thing I appreciate about myself is that I don’t just take the easy road in life. I really stick to my guns when it comes to constantly living out an adventure. It certainly has its hurdles but I know when it’s all said and done my last thoughts won’t be “I wish I would have lived more."

It’s a holistic marathon and it’s all encompassing. My goal is to find the things that work for me and incorporate them into my life consistently over a long period of time. My main pillars are what I ingest, my physical output and my mental clarity.
Damn. Now that I’m shuffling the question and answers around in my head it’s hard not to just say water is everything. I’ll leave it at this... I was born on a small island in the middle of nowhere in the South Pacific, surrounded by water. water represents freedom, anonymity, it represents isolation. It harbors life, it holds mysteries. It can be tranquil, it can be scary... water is the real deal.
Ironically enough... hydration. Ha! Mona says I need a minimum of three liters a day. THREE LITERS!?
A Moka pot. Some functional mushroom supplements. A pair of wool socks. A Gemsun hat. Venison tenderloin (medium rare). A 4 mile run. A few Lil Wayne mixtapes. Shannon Briggs yelling “let’s go champ!”. The opening scene to Sergio Leone’s ‘Once Upon a Time in the West’ . And a “No Shirt No Shoes No Problem” sticker on the door.
Oh absolutely. For Instance the other day in the shower I was fully immersed trying figure out how many different variations of pesto I could make with the massive amount of wild ramps that I foraged. Pine nuts, Pistachios, Cashews, Sunflower seeds... Pepitas... I mean the list goes on.
